Featured Friend Interview: Sculpt Sisters

Introducing Vetty & Ness – Instagram sensations and #Fitspo Motivation, together they are the Sculpt Sisters and they are helping to motivate and inspire females across the globe to live a healthier life.

Ladies thank you for being this months Featured Friend, we are so excited to introduce you to our Raw Blend Family because we know you are all about encouraging others to be their best selves and making healthy life choices everyday. Life gets busy and the majority of us are trying to balance families, work, exercise, diet and fun but if anyone can show us how to do it all, it’s the Sculpt Sisters.

We believe it is so important to help people create their own ‘Healthy Mix for Life’ because let’s face it – not one size fits all. What does creating ‘A Healthy Mix for Life’ mean to you?

For us creating a healthy mix of life involves working hard and achieving our training goals but at the same time enjoying life and having fun. We will often enjoy some red wine and cheeses in fact we enjoy that weekly!!! However we still stick to a structured work schedule and training plan as that’s how you still achieve your goals and gain results from your training. Its ok to sometimes not stick to your plan and have a sleep in instead of training or accidently eat that WHOLE pizza instead of one slice. Finding that balance is key and way more achievable to stick to long term.

You are so right, Balance is definitely the key. So with balance in mind, what does your average day on a plate look like?

We like to eat from every food group and will enjoy plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, good fats, animal meats and good carbs! A perfect meal for us will contain all of those things such as Chicken with Veggies like zucchini, eggplant, capsicum, green beans, red kidney beans with sweet potato and some creamy avocado on the side. We garnish most things with yummy herbs and spices. Actually, Ness’s favourite herb at the moment is fresh dill with some chopped up raw garlic.

That does sound delicious! Ladies, obviously diet is a huge part of living well but you know better than most that it’s not the only part … how do you keep your minds and your bodies healthy?

We do everything to keep our bodies active such as Pilates, weight training, high intensity training and yoga. Vetty and Myself are always mixing things up with our training to keep things interesting. We are always creating new mini Sculpt Sister workouts for our instagram and are always finding new ways to make our muscles sore or our heart rate challenged. Training together involves lots of laughing and I think laughter is the key to happiness and a healthy mind and body.

By creating a strong community through social media, you have both become such an inspiration to so many people but who inspires and motivates you?

We have many Fitness Gurus who we look up to from Fitness model instagram stars to exercise psychologists. Sophie Guidilon has amazing recipes and lives the lifestyle that she preaches, we think she is amazing. Also Tony Boutagy from Sydney runs these amazing courses and can answer everything and anything from all the fitness related research he reads and studies. We are continually learning and educating ourselves which is so important as Fitness Professionals.

With learning in mind, if you could share with the Raw Blend Family one piece of your wisdom, what would it be?

It’s the fact that doing weights combined with a healthy nutritious diet will NOT make women bulky!!!! We still have new clients coming to us with the fear that they will bulk up and get big doing weights and this is certainly not the case. Female body builders are on a very strict training program and eating a large amount of calories to get that bulked up look of hard muscle. If we only have time to train once in a week we would most definitely choose weights over any other training .

And finally, If you had to choose ONE Super Hero food that you could not live without, what would it be?

Ooooo its hard to give just one Super hero food that we cannot live without but at the moment we are obsessed with Sauerkraut!!! Its tangy in flavour and can make the plainest dish taste amazing adding a strong flavour. Sauerkraut has many benefits and contains vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, various B vitamins and a good source of iron, magnesium and calcium just to name a few.

Now with super foods in mind let’s talk recipes! Today you are going to share with us one of your favourite healthy recipes to create at home. Why this recipe?

We love this recipe because its quick to make and you can mix up the ingredients every single time!
