Halloween Candy Apples Submitted by Claire Walters - Raw Blend

A healthier spin on traditional toffee apples for Halloween time or for when you’re just really feeling like a toffee apple!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Medjool dates (pitted, soaked for 24 hours)
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil (melted)
  • dash sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 3-4 apples (depending on their size)

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients into your Vitamix container (except for the apples) and secure your lid. Start with only 1/4 of your almond milk and add more if you find it is still to thick for dipping your apples into.
  2. Select speed 1, turn the machine on and quickly increase to the highest speed.
  3. Use tamper to effectively press the ingredients into the blades if required whilst processing.
  4. Blend for 60-90 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Insert a popsicle stick or a wooden skewer into the middle of your apples and dip into the caramel sauce.
  6. Refrigerate your apples until the caramel solidifies.
