How to Make a Citrus Blast Smoothie using a Vitamix Blender
Hey guys. It’s Tommy here at Raw Blend. Today I’m going to show you a really simple recipe. It’s a citrus blast smoothie. I just came up with this recipe a few weeks ago. Really easy, but really tasty. So here it is. I’m just going to put in a couple of oranges. I’m just doing my best to shave off the outside of the orange. Just trying to leave as much of that white part on as possible. The pit, lots of good nutrition in the pit. High in vitamin C, lots of bioflavonoids, really, really good stuff. I’m just going to throw that in. I’ve got another one here ready to go and it goes. So two whole oranges.
I’m also going to put in two whole lemons. Lemons are fantastic, they’re really, really alkalising. That’s why I love this recipe. So simple. So just shaving off once again the outside, the peel. I’m trying to leave as much of that white part on. All that good flavour. And throw that in. And just two bananas as well for this recipe.
So I’m obviously going to peel those. That’s not going to taste too good, uh, the banana peel. Two of those, there we go. And that’s it. A really simple recipe for the kids. You know coming into the winter, that’s a really good smoothie to keep your immune system pumping nice and healthy. Alright, I’m going to put some ice in here just to keep it cool. It’s going to taste better when it’s cold. It’s pretty good. I can add some water if I need to, I’ll see how it goes.
So I’m going to lock all of it into place and get us started on slow speed, get it up to 10, probably use my temper and let it run for about 60 seconds. Away we go. Alright. That’s it. That’s how easy it is. Just let it run for about one minute. Smell that beautiful citrus flavour coming out of there.
So citrus blast smoothie. If it’s a little too bitter for you, just use one lemon instead of the two; I love it with two lemons in there. Just fill these up here. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Try this recipe at home coming into the flu season. You’ll love it. Happy blending.
