How to make Warm Winter Soup with the Vitamix

Video Transcription:

Hey guys. How’s it going? It’s Tommy here at Raw Blend. Today I’m going to make a delicious Winter Warmer soup recipe. I know you’re going to love this recipe, and it’s pretty simple so I’ll show you how it’s done. I’m going to start with two cups of cold water all of my measurements are on the side. I’m using filtered water. I’m going to put in some raw pumpkin. This is just a butternut pumpkin.

I find it’s got the nicest taste when it’s raw. About two to three cups of that. I’m going to put in some nice raw vegetables. Put in a whole carrot, just a small carrot there. A little bit of onion for a little bit of flavour goes a long way. I’ve got some celery. Make sure you use the leaves. That’s the most nutritious part of the celery, the parts we usually throw away. What else can I put in there for you? How about some squash? I’m going to put in a whole little squash there. Just throw him in, and we’ve some flavours here.

I’m going to put in some ginger, a nice little bit of ginger for you with the peel. Some garlic, you don’t have to worry about peeling it. You can leave the skin on as well. In it goes. Put a little bit of chilli here, just a touch of chilli depending on how hot you like it. I’m going to put some cabbage in it. That’s a great cancer fighter, cabbage. Throw a little bit of that in.

All right, so I’ve got my pumpkin in there. That’s a fantastic source of beta carotene and potassium. It’s really, really healthy for you. Let’s get some herbs in here too. I’m going to put a little bit of fresh parsley, some rosemary, absolutely delicious it smells good, and some basil. Just little bits of flavour there are really going to make that taste stand out in the soup. I’m going to cream it up. I’m going to use some cashews, some raw cashews as opposed to using cream or dairy. It’s a nice healthy alternative.

One vegetarian stock cube I have here. That’s a mass of vegetarian stock cube. You can use any sort of stock cube you like at home. It doesn’t matter. Throw it in. Make sure you peel that. It’s not too good. Add a little bit of seasoning, just some salt and pepper. Some Himalayan rock salt and pepper. All right beautiful, I think that looks pretty good. What do you think?

Alright, let’s get that blending. I’m going to start the Vitamix on a high speed and I’m going to pulse it. Alright, are you ready? On, off, on, off. It’s just going to suck everything straight to the blade there. That’s it. That’s how easy it is. I’m going to let that run for about five minutes, four or five minutes to make it nice and hot for you. Remember, it’s just that friction heat that’s cooking our soup, no heating element in the machine at all. Away we go. Alright, that’s it. That’s done. It’s so simple.

You’re going to see some steam come out of the top here. There we go, beautiful. Raw pumpkin, raw vegetables, will turn it into a nice winter warmer soup recipe. It takes about five minutes to make. I know you’re going to love this recipe. Let’s serve you up some of this. Smell those delicious flavours from the rosemary and the basil. It’s absolutely beautiful. There we go.

A little bit of garnish here. I’m going to use a little bit of yoghurt. Just put a nice swirl in here. We’re going to finish that off with a little grated parsley as well. Chopped parsley I should say, not grated. Just a little sprinkle of that on there. That looks beautiful. Try this recipe. I know you’re going to love it. Thanks for watching. Happy blending.
