Blue Basil Beet Smoothie Submitted by Tommy - Raw Blend

A delicious smoothie recipe with a hint of Basil to keep things interesting. Mix up your smoothie routine with this recipe in your Vitamix.


  • 1 punnet blueberries
  • 1 banana (peeled)
  • 1 kiwi fruit
  • 1 lemon (peeled)
  • 1 beetroot (peeled)
  • 1 passionfruit (seeds only)
  • 1 bunch basil
  • 1 date (pitted)
  • 2 cups ice


  1. Put all the ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Select speed 1, turn the machine on and quickly increase to the highest speed.
  3. Use tamper to effectively press the ingredients into the blades if required whilst processing.
  4. Blend for 60-90 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Stop the machine and serve.
