Kale Hummus Submitted by Tommy - Raw Blend

A green spin on traditional hummus! Whip this up in your Vitamix blender for when you have guests over, or if you’re just after a simple and healthy snack.


  • 240g organic chick peas (1 drained can)
  • 3 cups organic kale or spinach
  • juice 2 lemons
  • 2 Tbps unhulled tahini
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin seeds
  • 1 glove garlic
  • Himalayan rock salt and pepper (to taste)


  1. Put all the ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Select speed 1, turn the machine on and quickly increase to the highest speed.
  3. Use the tamper to effectively press the ingredients into the blades whilst processing.
  4. Blend for 30-45 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Stop the machine and serve.
