Sour Cream is always a winner in the kitchen however it can be fattening. We’ve made it healthy and in 3 different ways to suit most dietary requirements, and all simply made in the Vitamix.

Ingredients
Healthy Sour Cream – Makes 1 cup
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Vegan Sour Cream – Makes 1 ½ Cups
- 1 cup Brazil nuts (soaked)
- 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup filtered water
- 3/4 tsp Himalayan sea salt
Dairy Free Sour Cream – Makes 2 cups
- 1 cup filtered water
- 1 tsp Himalayan sea salt
- 1/2 cup pine nuts
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/3 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tsp garlic powder or 1/2 garlic clove
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Method
Healthy Sour Cream Recipe
- Mix ingredients together in a bowl really well.
- Can be kept in airtight container stored in the fridge for a few days.
Vegan Sour Cream
- Mix ingredients together in a bowl really well.
- Can be kept in airtight container stored in the fridge for a few days.
Dairy Free Sour Cream
- Put all the ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Select speed 1, turn the machine on and quickly increase to the highest speed.
- Use the tamper to effectively press the ingredients into the blades whilst processing.
- Blend for 45-60 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
- Stop the machine and serve.
- Can be kept in an airtight container stored in the fridge for a few days.
