Vitamix is voluntarily recalling Ascent® Series 225ml and 600ml Blending Containers and Blade Bases. Through Vitamix’s ongoing quality inspection program, they have identified a potential safety issue with the US versions of the above containers. It is possible that the container may separate from the blade base exposing the blades to consumers, creating a laceration hazard.
While the US product is different from the international models, out of an abundance of caution, Vitamix has decided to issue a voluntary recall on all 225ml and 600ml Blending Containers and Blade Bases products globally. It is important to note that the Australian and NZ models of these products have interlock technology and will not operate if the lid is loose or not put on correctly.
Consumer safety is Vitamix’s top priority, and Vitamix is fully committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and service. To remedy this issue, Vitamix are offering a free repair kit to consumers, which includes a protective plastic shroud to be attached over the blade base, along with additional instructional labels.
