I’ve been missin’ your strawberry kisses … because nothing’s as sweet … the taste still drives me crazy! This Strawberry Kisses Smoothie Recipe is as sweet as little Nikki Webster when she released that song. It’s also the perfect Valentine’s Day Smoothie to share with your sweetie or your bestie!
It is February … the month of looooove bow-chicka-wow-wow! But love comes in all forms. It doesn’t have to be romantic. It can be love for your fam, your pets, or your bestie! Either way the “month of love” is a reminder to me, to be grateful for the friendships and beautiful relationships I have in my life. When it comes to the people I am surrounded by, It is true … I am #blessed. But this didn’t happen by accident. I made a conscious decision to give love, accept love and be love to everyone I meet. If it’s not reciprocated, perhaps that relationship does not serve me well, so I leave them with nothing but kindness and thanks and continue to strive to be a beam of light in peoples lives, and I find … that’s what I get in return …
I am a strong believer that what you put out into the universe you will receive back. The loves of my life are a product of that. But I went waaaaaaay off track, sorry lovers! Where was I? Oh yeah, smoothies! This beauty is worth sharing a smooch for and here is why!
Oh my berry goodness my heart skips a beet just thinking about this recipe … too much? Joking aside this recipe is bursting with flavour and packed tight with bountiful berry benefits.
Berries are the perfect sweet treat, amazing in your daily smoothies, an excellent addition to your superfood bowls and fantastic with desserts. Being one of the richest sources of antioxidants, these babies help our body fight oxidative stress that is caused by free radicals. Free radicals damage our cells and cause some pretty nasty diseases and life-long illnesses. They are just popping with goodness like Vitamin C, anthocyanins & quercetin.
Beets may help to lower our blood pressure and improve blood flow throughout our bods and they also boost your stamina. This means next time you’re heading to the gym, whip up this recipe to sip on throughout your workout. It’s also great as a post work out pick me-up and will help to reduce inflammation on those newly worked out muscles! Oh yeah …
Beets are also high in vitamin c which we know is an amazing immune booster, they are also full of fibre, potassium and manganese. Beets have also been getting a pretty good rap lately by making the superfood hot list. Why? Well they help to detoxify our bods by purifying our blood and liver … sounds pretty super to me!
