How to Make a Protein Smoothie using a Vitamix Blender
Hey guys, it’s Tommy here at Raw Blend. Today I’m going to show you how to make my favourite after-workout protein smoothie. Really simple recipe for you all.
I’m going to start off with two cups of rice milk. You can use almond milk or soy milk. It doesn’t matter. Your going to put in a couple of bananas. Bananas are high in potassium, high in Vitamin B6, and a great low GI sweetener. They’re really, really good in smoothies. Put that in there. Alright. I’m going to put in a couple tablespoons of Teresa Cutter, the Healthy Chef’s Pea Protein. It’s really good, that one.
You can use hemp protein. Whatever you like. It’s up to you. I’m going to put in one or two tablespoons of cacao powder, that nice chocolate taste in there. Really, really good. I’m going to sweeten it up. That’s optional. You don’t have to. I’m just using a little bit of Manuka honey. In that goes. Beautiful.
I’m going to put in some chia seeds as well. Good old Omega threes, they’re high in Omega threes. Really, really good. That’s it. I’m going to put some ice in there. Nice chunk of ice. Probably 2 or three cups there. I’m going to make it almost like a frappe in the consistency. Almost like a milkshake. Lock it into place. Get it up on to high speed for about forty seconds. Away we go.
That looks pretty good. You can let it run longer if you like. I like to give it that nice sort of thickshake or frappe consistency. It makes it feel like it’s a little bit naughty even though it is really healthy for you. Pour that out there. Look at that. Not really liquid. Not really frozen. It’s sort of in between that consistency. Cheers! After workout protein smoothie. Enjoy. Happy blending!
