How to Make a Frappuccino using the Vitamix – Video

Hi, it’s Tommy from Raw Blend. And while I’m not a coffee drinker, I don’t meet too many people who don’t love a good frappuccino, an iced chocolate coffee drink.

brown rice milkNow the frappuccino was actually invented in the Vitamix machine. You might have bought one of these before. It probably cost you over $5 or more for a small glass from your local coffee shop. They make a fortune off of it and it costs them nothing to make.

I’m going to show you how cheap, quick and easy it is to make your own frappuccino at home, right here in your Vitamix blender.

So in the container here, I have some vanilla yogurt you can use almond milk, the coffee shops will use cream. I’m going to put my favourite coffee in there, any sort you like. I’m going to put some chocolate sauce to sweeten it up.

You can use your favourite chocolate bar as well. I’ve got some Kit Kat here or Tim Tam would be really nice in there.

I’m going to sweeten it with some honey. The coffee shops will use a lot of sugar. Honey is a little bit healthier for you. And about a splash of Bailey’s to get the party started. It will add a nice flavor to it, just a nice shot of that in there.

I think that looks pretty good; chocolate, coffee, yogurt. I’m going to add some ice to keep it cool. With frappuccino, the trick is one part liquid to one part frozen element. That looks pretty good.

We’re going to lock our lid into place. We’re going to start it on slow speed, increase up to 10, get it up onto high speed, maybe about 40 seconds. That’s it. It’s that simple. It took me about 40 seconds, a delicious restaurant quality frappuccino.

You can see the consistency there, not really frozen, not really liquid. That’s the idea behind a frappuccino. Just in between. All right that looks really good. I’m going to garnish this, make it look a little bit better.

I’ve got some whipped cream here. Look at that, beautiful. A little bit of flake, if you’re feeling a bit cheeky. There we go. Now while I’m not a massive coffee drinker, I know the crew back here can’t wait to get their hands on this recipe. You should see the smiles on their faces. Here you go. Try that. I might as well try one too. What do you think? Pretty good?
